Help the Victims of Typhoon Sendong

As millions of Filipinos are now feeling the Christmas spirit and being festive about it, thousands down south are grieving the loss of their loved ones due to typhoon Sendong. Typhoons rarely pass through that part of the country which I believe was the reason why everyone was caught off guard. Add to that is the fact that not a lot of our countrymen there has sufficient access to mas media which could have given them warning about the impending rainstorm.

I feel bad with what I’m seeing in the news right now. There are about 650 people dead and there are still some 800+ missing. The images of the dead drowned bodies being piled up is sickening and I can only sympathize  with the victims. The government, I’d like to believe, is doing its best to help out but we as ordinary Filipinos help the victims by donating to Red Cross or by dropping by to the nearest charity centers to donate used clothings, food, or cash. I understand that some companies and employers are also doing their own relief-gathering activities.
